- Numbing creams are used for your comfort. We will inquire about any allergies prior to your treatment.
- Refrain from alcohol, energy drinks and caffeine use 24 hours before your appointment.
- Discontinue any Retin A (Tretinoin), Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Acne or Proactive products to the treatment area 2 weeks before treatment.
- Do not work out before your appointment.
- If you have used ACCUTANE, you must wait 1 year after discontinuation before having permanent makeup or other facial services.
- BOTOX or FILLERS: Your treatment must be done BEFORE Botox or Fillers. If you currently have Botox or Fillers, you must wait at least 3 months AFTER your injections for your permanent makeup treatment.
- You must not have a tan or sunburn to the area being treated for 2 weeks before your appointment.
- Use of Latisse or any lash or eyebrow growth serums must be discontinued for one month before your treatment. This only applies to the area you are having the permanent makeup on. These serums increase bleeding and color will not hold.
- Plan on approx. 2 hours for your initial treatment.
- Most permanent makeup treatments require 2 separate appointments scheduled 4-8 weeks apart. Both appointments are included in your initial fee.
- You will be able to drive, return to work and normal activities following your treatment.
- Please plan your appointment accordingly as you will not be able to get the area wet (you may shower), swim, sweat, exercise, tan, use a sauna, hot tub or steam room for 10 days after. Do not exercise or plan yard work the day of your treatment and up to 7 days after your appointment.
- For BROWS: Please arrive to your appointment with your brows drawn on if you currently do this. Pictures are also welcome. They do not have to be perfect so don't stress. This just gives us an idea of your preferences. We will be designing the perfect brow for you with your input. If you currently do not draw your brows on, just come as you are.
Eyeliner Clients Only:
- If you wear contacts please come to your appt with your glasses on. Contacts can be worn again in 24-48 hrs after your treatment.
- Anew only offers subtle lash enhancement and regular thickness eyeliner. We do not offer thick, wet line or winged eyeliner. We are unable to join corners on eyeliner as this can cause a risk of migration of pigment.
- Keep in mind that pigment is placed under the skin which will result in a softened, lighter color once healed. Your eyeliner will not be as black and intense as when first applied, nor will it heal like liquid eyeliner makeup. Your skin tone will effect the healed color.
- If you have had any eye surgeries, you will need to wait 6 months after for eyeliner.
- No use of Latisse/lash growth serums for one month before your treatment.
- If you wear false eyelashes or waterproof eyeliner regularly, discontinue use 2 weeks before your treatments. The adhesive and waterproof properties put a barrier on the skin making it difficult to insert pigment.
- Discontinue the use of oil based makeup remover or baby oil 2 weeks prior to appointment. These act as a barrier and pigment won't implant.
- If your eyes water excessively/are sensitive or you are very anxious, this treatment may not be a fit for you. Excessive tearing or anxiety interferes with the technicians ability to implant color and or color may not take at all. This is not the fault of the technician and no guarantee as to the final outcome of your eyeliner can be made. If additional appointments are needed there will be an additional charge.
- If your eyelids are very vascular (red/purple visible veins) you are at a higher risk of bruising and or migration or spreading of color and may not be a candidate for thicker eyeliner.
- You must have all lash extensions removed prior to your appointment. You will not be able to reapply them until after your touch up appointment has healed.
- If possible, please arrive to your appointment without mascara, eyeliner or eyeshadow.
Lip Clients Only:
- If you have EVER had a cold sore or have a history of Herpes, you will need to be on a physician prescribed antiviral medication BEFORE and AFTER your treatment to reduce the risk of a breakout. This is very important!! Bring your prescription with you to your appointment. Over the counter antivirals will not be strong enough. Even with taking antivirals, there may still be a chance of having an outbreak. Please call our office with questions.
- Stop using 24 hour lip color such as Lipsense for 2 weeks prior to your treatment. They can interfere with pigment implantation.
- Please exfoliate and prep your lips daily for 1 week before your appointment using a sugar scrub daily, apply aquaphor or other moisture to lips as needed to keep moist and hydrate by drinking ample water. If lips are dry or chapped on your appointment day, color may not take easily or evenly.
- Color cannot be applied outside of your natural lip border.
- Your final result will be a muted, softer matte finish of color. The color will be bright and saturated immediately after treatment.
- Bring your favorite lip color with you to your appointment if you have one.
